AROS software for Raspberry Pi
Small tools and libraries for piAROS, the AArch64 version of AROS for the Raspberry Pi.
Programs
VCStat
v0.6Raspberry Pi vital signs in a native Zune window.
Reads data straight from the VideoCore firmware and shows how your Pi is really doing: temperature, voltages, clock speed and power problems.
- CPU temperature with gauge, core and SDRAM voltage, real ARM clock
- Under-voltage, throttling and frequency capping – now and since boot
- Mini mode: temperature strip on the screen title bar, red on warning
- Details window: board, RAM, firmware and all clocks
- No CPU use between readings, paused while iconified
Tested on: Raspberry Pi 3B+, Pi 4, Pi 500+. Pi 5 should work (not tested).
PiTopBatt
v0.4Battery monitor for the pi-top [1] laptop.
Reads the Smart Battery gauge of the pi-top [1] directly over I2C. No driver or extra library needed – and it only reads, it never changes any battery setting.
- Charge in percent, time left or time to full
- Power source, current, power, voltage and temperature
- Battery health, cycle count and capacity details
- Warnings: low, empty, too hot, over-charged
- Mini mode: e.g. “77% 10:20” on the screen title bar
Requires: pi-top [1] with Raspberry Pi 3 or 4. Not for Pi 5, pi-top [3] / [4] or UPS boards.
For developers
PiSensors
v0.4C library for sensors on the Raspberry Pi GPIO header.
A source / link library – nothing to install. Add the files to your project or link libpisensors.a and read a sensor with a few lines of C. All values are integers, no floating point needed.
- DHT11 / DHT22 – temperature and humidity
- DS18B20 – several temperature sensors on one pin (1-Wire)
- BME280 / BMP280 – temperature, humidity, pressure (I2C)
- OLED display SSD1306 / SH1106 – text and graphics (I2C)
- Safe GPIO and I2C layers for your own drivers
- Demos included: SensorPins (Zune), DHTRead, DSRead, BMERead, I2CScan, OLEDDemo
Requires: Raspberry Pi 3 / 3B+ / 4. Pi 5 is not supported.
GPIO pins are 3.3 V only – never connect 5 V. Read the safety chapter in manual.txt before wiring.
